ACTEENS

If you’re a girl between the ages of 12 and 17, you should join Acteens!! Acteens is a missions organization where teenage girls have opportunities to grow in their relationships with God and their peers. Acteens learn to look beyond themselves and become actively involved in missions and ministry. We will be building upon this concept through MissionsQuest, an individual achievement plan which will help you develop your gifts, skills, and talents. We will work through our MissionsQuest workbooks the last Sunday night of each month.  If you are interested in building a stronger missions focus personally and learning how to influence the people around you to become more missions-minded, please join us for Acteens! We will begin meeting again on Sunday nights, beginning January 8th at 6pm in the Adult 6 Sunday School room. The class will be led by Mrs. Stacey Craps and Mrs. Julie Hill.

Happy New Year
New Year's Prayer
(byJack Zavada)

Lord, this year I want to change, and I've said that in the past.
But now my prayer is different 'cause I understand at last.

I wanted my own way before, I ignored your loving plans.
But now I'm putting everything into your nail-scarred hands.

I promise to obey you out of gratitude and love.
I won't be giving orders to my Father up above.

I finally realize the truth and so I've changed my prayer.
The safest place for me to be is in your gentle care.
Our church and Women on Mission provided 50 Christmas prisoner packets.

Our church provided 113 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, and for of our women volunteered a full day at the Charlotte Operation Center.

Thanks to everyone for your help with these mission projects, for the Christmas adoption of needy children & families at GPS, for your extra giving to Christian Ministry Center during the holidays, and tothe Lottie Moon Christmas offering (total collected was $2,3985)
Women On Mission

As the new year begins with challenges and opportunities, will you make a commitment to leave your comfort zone behind so you can follow Christ into new territory?  Often we want the Lord to use someone else in accomplishing His plan because we don't want the discomfort or the risks for ourselves.  Consider giving yourself fully to the Lord's challenges in service, missions, reaching out, and witnessing.  When we are obedient to follow Him beyond our comfort zone, the opportunities and the rewards are great!

GA Corner

Happy New Year from the GA's of FBCG!  Though we took the month off from our monthly meetings, we were still able to get together a few times and serve God through missions.  Early in December we took about 15 girls to Generations Nursing Home.  We delivered home made Christmas ornaments, but mor importantly, we were able to spread God's love to some very special friends.  We also enjoyed a meal at Angelo's (Thank you Andrew and Krista for your hospitality!).

Later in the month, many of our girls served God by helping with Little Bethlehem!  Without the children and youth of our church it would not have been possible!  Thank you girls for serving!!

We are looking forward to exciting things in 2012.  Encourage all girls in grades 1 - 6 to get involved and see what God is doing in GA's!!
